Hello lovelies!! Lagos is moving forward. Just stumbled on this and thought I should share it. LAWMA has recycling banks in housing estates. Sounds cool right? It doesn’t cost you so much time. All you have to do as a resident is to sort your waste from source. Putting the human factor into consideration, the recycling banks may not be in every estate. How about people not living in estates? What you can do is to sort your waste from the source. It’s a duty we owe ourselves and our environment. Simple put, separate your glass wastes, paper wastes, plastic wastes which include nylon materials, used cans from all other types of wastes (i.e. food scraps e.t.c). We complain of clogged drainages, traffic congestion due to bad roads, unpredictable weather, high temperatures and floods. Unrecycled plastic dumped in drainages would prevent free flow of water. This then find its way to our roads and we all know asphalt and water are not friends. The roads begin to degrade and you the effect of one pothole on roads ( if you ply Unilag axis, you can relate especially on your way to and from Jibowu). It’s responsibility. It’s a way of contributing your own quota to Environmental Conservation and Sustainability.
